“Pass the Hat Night”
The San Joaquin Geological Society supports the local Buena Vista Museum of Natural History through an annual “Pass the Hat Night”. Buena Vista Museum promotes and celebrates scientific and educational aspects of earth history, particularly paleontology, biology, geology and anthropology. This is done through public education, research, and by serving as a repository for fossils, Native American artifacts, and other natural history items. The society promotes a fund-raising effort each year by matching a significant percentage of funds raised during one of our annual dinner meetings. The generosity of our members has made this year our most successful.
